Jay Reatard RIP

Just heard the shocking news that Jay Reatard died yesterday. He was 29 years old. Jay was one of the icons of modern garage punk. His work with The Reatards is one of the most furiest guitar assaults ever put to vinyl or CD.
His later solo work got great critical acclaim, with 'Blood Visions' (2006) named a modern classic by theinternational music press.

A statement was posted on the website of Goner Records, that Reatard had died in his sleep. Friends of Lindsey stated that he had recently complained of flu-like symptoms.
